Came on a Wednesday evening in July. Favourite aunt & uncl;e were visiting and both are keen on good food. They both said that it was one of the best meals that they had eaten for quite a few years and that it was certainly the best steaks (blue) that they could remember having. Usual very good welcome and excellent service. Thanks to Spencer, Maxine and all the staff.

There were 14 in our group on the first night of the Christmas menu, as well as other diners, and the kitchen coped admirably. Our meal was beautiful, not one complaint was voiced, the only problem being trying to decide what to have when everything on the extensive menu looked so appetising! The service was good, decorations lovely and we had a wonderful start to the Christmas season. I for one will be back!

Dinner for 15 on 05/09/08 was a most enjoyable occasion on many levels. Choice good and served with flair by friendly staff who accommodated our celebratory mood with humour. All satisfied with choices, particular favourites being the soup, pate and moist generously portioned pork fillet and colourful vegtetable selection. Great choice of home made sweets and good coffee competed a most enjoyable evening. Thankyou.

We visited The Old Rectory for the first time last night and had a lovely time. The surroundings are idilic and peaceful, the restaurant has a perfect atmosphere, the meal was delish and great value for money. We only live round the corner and cannot believe we haven't visited before :p

We would like to thank Maxine and Spencer for a lovely evening on the 14 February Valentines day.
The meal and service was excellent, the decor with Red heart balloons attached to all the chairs also the menue written with a poetic theme all added to the atmosphere of the evening.

We stumbled across the Old Rectory by chance on the evening of 14th March while visiting the area on business. We had no reservation but despite obviously being a very busy Friday Night they were able to accommodate us. As we walked to our table we expected to be shocked at the prices on the menu. We were! Not by how high they were but how reasonable this was. The food was fantastic, the service jovial yet efficient and professional. All in all a real gem! Most certainly recommended.
